The BeMaternity Story

I founded Ingrid & Isabel because I had a product idea I wanted to share with other women.

In 2001, a universal "I-can't-button-my-pants" moment sparked the idea for the Bellaband.
In 2003, I shipped our first order to a customer in Northern California.
By 2005, the Bellaband was available in maternity boutiques across the country.

It was a dream realized when I heard from happy moms that the Bellaband was the hardest working maternity accessory they owned. At the same time however, I heard from pregnant women who desperately wanted a Bellaband but didn't have a boutique close by, or found the price hard to bear.

So, I made my dream a little bigger...Let's make a more affordable version of the Bellaband available to more women. As luck would have it, Target Stores called and shared my dream.

In 2007, we set out to offer a maternity band by Ingrid & Isabel to Target Guests across the country. We challenged our seamless engineers to produce a maternity band with similar function but at a better price. Different yarns, densities, compression and measurements later, it worked. We call it the BeBand.

By 2009, we created BeMaternity, a collection of affordable, functional, seamless solutions for pregnancy.

With 1800 stores across the country, Target provided the solution. Now, more women can enjoy the function and comfort Ingrid & Isabel brings to maternity wardrobes everywhere.
